| Yes, new Stooges album. It is decent. Like I said, personally, I think the sax was a poor choice in how it was used. That said it still doesn't damage some good songs complete with Iggy's charm | |

STEVE EARLE - Guitar Town DWIGHT YOAKAM - Guitars, Cadillacs, etc
GUIDED BY VOICES - Chronicles of the Captain Crashing (a mix cd I made from a recent box set of unreleased tunes)
THE BREEDERS - Pod

| Good sound and mix, which I am sorry, but does not always happen on Albini records. He has almost too much of a hands off approach. He could have really helped the last ZAO album by stepping up. But he is all about letting the artist discover themselves and stuff | |

| Last Chapter - Very, very good! I LIKE!!! Kittie was good - they're doing more actual singing. . . and she can. Still pretty marketable, and industry-ready. I'm sure they have all the product shots lined up - but not bad for radio ready. Echoes of Eternity - uhh, ok, I guess. Not thrilled - reviews were faaaaaar better than the disc. Silent Force - great stuff! Still got a few left. . . | |

| Reverend Bizarre - The Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend AND!: - The Harbinger of Metal ... I don't usually go for bands in the epic/gothic vein, but I really like Reverend Bizarre for their overarching commitment to DOOOM. . The band's sound incorporates the slowwwwwwneeesssss of Vitus, the sluggish tones of Electric Wizard, the epic soundscape of Candlemass, and, in some parts, a Sabbathy-groove. Cirith Ungol, the album's longest song, incorporates even the crushing heaviness, power, and spatial atmosphere of funeral doom. And the whole thing is carried out in a slightly psychedelic overall doom-obsessed atmosphere. Lastly, I really like their cover of Burzum's "Dunkelheit". All that said, I can't take it all the time, but if you're in the mood for crushing epic/gothic doom, then let's say you are in the mood for this band! | |
