Here's a MEGADETH boot for you guys of a show I uploaded. Troggish

This is an audience recording with decent sound. A special boot for me because I was in attendance. Also in attendance that night were James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, though I was too starstruck at the time to approach them. Embarassed

A club show prior to the release of their debut album and right at the time of their infamous 3 song 1984 demo. This was right in between Kerry King leaving and Chris Poland being added to the lineup. So here we have audio evidence of Megadeth playing as a three piece at this show (Dave, David & Gar). Also, Dave Mustaine's in-between song banter is memorable and quite humorous in places.

No they are petty especially Lars and I hate to say it.. Dave. I know it was a huge kick in the nuts but that wound runs deep

Or, and I never thought of this, maybe they were there to see Kirk's old band EXODUS and not MEGADETH at all? I guess it's possible that they could have left before Dave went on...just to be pricks. I didn't notice if they stayed because I went down front for MEGADETH.

I think the guys in Metallica were just big metal fans back in those early days. The whole scene supported each other. They were there to have a few drinks and watch a show. That's my guess.

I don't think in the early days that Metallica hated Mustaine quite as much as Mustaine resented them.

All good speculations, though we'll probobly never know as that coin has 2 very distinctive sides

I seem to remember hearing Mustaine say "F**K Metallica" as part of his in-between song banter during that show.

Must be a different show, ult. I know there is an infamous early show where the crowd starts chanting "Kirk Hammett sucks! Kirk Hammett sucks!" and Dave grabs the mic and says "Yeah, I think he fuckin' sucks too!" (not sure if it's available on boot or not, but Dave alluded to it in an audio interview I heard once). I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about, but I don't think there's anything like that on this particular boot, as I know it extremely well from years of play.

I'll give it another listen. I heard it this morning and thought I had heard that. Could easily be mistaken. Listening

Its a good boot. I especially like the early version of Wake Up Dead.
