| Listen through their stuff and they have some real sludgy doom parts or songs on almost every album. WMARD has a ton of slowed down riffage what with Franklin on a couple songs and Friedman even scales down the speed. I have a hunch Ted listened to a lot of Sabbath in his day. | |

| Yeah - Tourniquet is cool! Both the slow & the fast stuff... I've heard Ted even did a gig with Trouble back in the early nineties. | |

| Wouldn't call them doom, slow parts don't really mean doom. | |

Where Moth and Rust Destroy defintitely has some doom moments on it, most notably "A Ghost at the Wheel" (which features Bruce Franklin) and "In Death We Rise", but that's about as much as I can hear on that particular album. They also covered "The Tempter" by TROUBLE on their volume of the Intense Live Series CD.

| The had two songs on the first two albums that were doom-ish... but I think that is just the Trouble vibe seeping through | |

| regardless of whether or not one could call them doom, one of Tourniquet's strong points has always been their level of variation on their albums, even without venturing too far from their single sub-genre. | |

| Tourniquet are far from doom, but they do have some doom influences in their music for sure.
ghosts, Are you sure it was only one show that Ted played with Trouble? I thought he was with them a bit longer than that.

| Oh that is a good track! It was before they got the dreadful new lead singer
I keep waiting for the TQT police to show up LOL Dorothy we aren't in Firestream anymore!
It wasn't much more than one show me thinks. He was in the band for a couple of months though. So he rehearsed with them a fair bit I think...

| I don't mind Luke as a vocalist but hey, I listen to death metal, what do I know? POG was their pinnacle album in my mind though but WMARD is an album made for Luke. | |

Their first 3 albums wers good but Psycho Surgery was the only one I was ever totally gaga over after that they were REAL hit and miss IMO Cool, thanks ghosts. I was just about to request an mp3 of that track from someone. I can't grab it while at work, but I'll get it tonight at home and let y'all know what I think. I've never actually heard the first 3 Tourniquet albums, so that's why this track got by me.

| I just downloaded Pathogenic Occular Dissonance since I hadnt heard it in ages. WOW!! I had forgotten how good this was! I shall be trying to find this asap.
As far as doom goes they have their doomy parts and they do it well. Their version of The Tempter is most excellent!

Agreed. My only problem with it is that they omitted the "BASTAAAAAAAAAARD!" part at the end. It's sort of integral to the overall feel and ending of the song, IMO.

| I think after spinning POD, I will have to say that it is now a tie between that and Psycho Surgery. Stop The Bleeding is good but Guy tries to hard to convince me he is King Diamond. LOL
Ya know Trog I had forgotten they left off the scream. Im gonna have to listen to that cd now.

| Doom metal is a form of heavy metal music that typically employs very slow tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much 'thicker' or 'heavier' sound than other metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics intend to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. Quote from the ubiquitous Wikipedia... And yes they did sing about impending doom especially on The Colourblind album and Microscopic View of a Telescopic World. | |
