The new Satriani ...

Upon first few listens, I REALLY dig this album! I actually thought it would be difficult for him to top his other newest, Crystal Planet, but he may have done it (haven't decided yet). This new one, Super Colossal
is decidedly more 70's groove, and noticeably slower in tempo all the
way through. Less shredding and just lot's of all out rock and roll
groove. And that is TOTALLY up my alley.

Anyone else heard the new Satch yet?

I think Blue Dream was the last Satch album I heard.

I lost track of Satch after Surfing with the Alien...

It is so weird for me... I am usually CONSTANTLY listening to music but lately I will go days without... I really enjoyed the new Demon Hunter and the other stuff I was listening to the other day... but it is like my joy has been sapped!

I'm Gonna Live came out this year... Dancing in the Streets is generally considered the band's high water mark. Actually if you really want to appreciate them you should check out AMERICAN HARDCORE... great documentary that given your current kick you would LOVE as well as the soundtrack... premium shit there....

Yeah, but don't get your hopes up, man. It's cool enough for what it is (an acoustic/industrial affair),
but it sounds nothing like the DANZIG of old (ca. 1988-1992) since it's from the Blackacidevil album

His song "When Death Had No Name" sounds more SABBATH-like than this does.
