| Very old school doom, with up front Christian lyrics. "Aquired" it the otherday. | |

| I heard this album a couple of years ago...I don't recall it really sticking with me...I'll have to see if I can hear it again...I think they have a MySpace presence... | |

Mick annoys the hell out of a lot of people... From about 5 minutes of MySpace "research": - Rock Star Tattoo is now Solid Rock Tattoo and has reloacted - They (Mick & Tracy) no longer reside in Evansville, IN, but Oklahoma City, IN - GOLIATH is active, NINETEEN88 is dead & GOLIATH has a big street team promotion campaign out of NY - There appears to be a "new" GOLIATH album (but it may be the old songs repackaged) & it's being sold at the website I posted above

| I don't get it... Whats he doing? Its not a new album, it was released back in 01!! Have they been re-recorded perhaps? They sound different, more metal and less doom. | |

Doing what he's always done...write a bunch of different kinds of music, run 'em all up the flagpole and see who salutes. He's trying hard to be a rock star. I remember at one time he had NINETEEN88 (bar rock), GOLIATH (Doom) and his "solo" (Pop) stuff all rolling at once, with neither acknowledging the others' existence... Plus, I'm sure he's pissed & bitter over that whole jail/lawsuit thing last year, so Metal is his perfect outlet for it.

| I must admit I know nothing about Mick Rowe... I didn't even know he was in the band until I read your earlier post. | |

| He's been around the Christian scene a long time, dating back to the band TEMPEST in the late 80s with his brother Jamie Rowe (then "J.R. Rowe"). Jamie went on to GUARDIAN and Mick did whatever. He's done GOLAITH, NINETEEN88, MIDNIGHT ORCHESTRA, tried his hand at Outlaw Country music (I think) and tried to launch himself as a solo pop artist (sounding kind of like a Christian Vertical Horizon)...plus he co-owns a tattoo shop w/ his wife. He was accused (falsely, as it turns out) of some pretty heinous things last year that sullied his rep...a rep that was already sullied a bit (according to other posts from people who've dealt with him...I never have) by his own apparent actions. I've never met him, don't know him and have no opinion of him personally...I'm only going by what I've seen online...which, as we know, isn't exactly 100% reputable. | |

| Mick has always been an odd little duck. He's not a bad musician. He just wants to do anything and everything. | |

| I love the music on The Gate, but there's all this noisy, annoying preaching samples in between every song - which really detract from the overall album. I recently made myself a copy without all of the samplage, so I need to give it a fresh listen. I think the "new" CD may just be a repackaging of The Gate, but it would certainly be very cool if it was new recordings or even the original ones without all of the samples. We'll see. I may grab it anyway, just for kicks. I also have the three demos that Mick and David Benson did together prior to the first GOLIATH album being released and, IMO, it's the best sounding material either of them has ever done. Too bad it didn't work out. | |

| I once held The Gate in my hands at a used store in Portland for something like $3 but didn't know what it was so I put it down. Still kicking myself. | |

| If I don't have the original already I always get the newest release so i'll hold out for that. Especially on this as they took out the spoken parts. | |

Plus, you can get the package deal of the CD and the t-shirt for one low price at the band's website: http://goliathrocks.spruz.com/
