Sombrance guitarist Rob Williams is a very good guitar teacher. So I often take lessons from him. He is able to play tons of different styles very well. And for some reason, he is prolific when writing Country music. He suggested that I ought to practice recording myself playing covers of some country artists I like to broaden my horizons... so I did.

I tracked all of these at home with my Acoustic guitar, bass, and Apple drum loops - they are unmixed and completely unpro!! You can tell I didn't bother with a pop guard when tracking vocals.

Have fun, chuckle! But beware of my overall prowess!!! Get it? Overalls??? Ahhh nevermind!

Notice a pattern here?? I love Fred Eaglesmith!!

And this last one is one of Rob's originals - I just did the vox. He wrote the music and words.

Hey man, have you heard my ARISE stuff? Some of it has a country flavor in places. Particularly "New Song".

Here's the MySpace if you want to check it out:

Pretty cool! Ive been also looking into going into uncharted territory with music. Im leaning VERY close to going blues. That is something Ive never done before but would absolutely LOVE to. I think I could do country as well, especially something like what you have linked to. That doesnt reek of countrypop or antything. It is actually VERY Neal Young sounding.

Same here. I plan on injecting some blues into TD sometime in the future. :blue:

Frighteningly enough, I think I could do country pretty well. Shocked I have one song that I've never recorded yet called "One Day at a Time". Someday...
