Before becoming the mighty metal machine of the 70's and early 80's, Thin Lizzy released three excellent albums that were more folk rock with a lot of traditional Irish folk influences. Any fans of Thin Lizzy, Shades of a Blue Orphanage, or Vagabonds of the Western World? Even Nightlife had a bit of their early sound as well. I would say that Nightlife was their crossover album.

Oh YEAH, man! I love the early material and I dare say that those first few releases are some of my *favorite* LIZZY material! WAY UP!

My best friend is Lizzy fanatic and he burned their entire studio album collection on a disc for me (mp3) so I have been able to listen to the first 3 releases. They arent quite my cup of tea but they are good. I think they will need to be listened to more so that I may appreciate them better.
