| I've been developing this for the last few years while doing intensive research on Christian message boards. It's a work in progress and may be added to from time to time as more of these profound truths are revealed to me, but tell me what you think so far: Legalist's Credo:1. Win at any cost.2. Never let love & concern for people overtake the ultimate goal of rightness.3. "The beatings will continue until morale improves." 4. The Father, the Son and the Holy Scripture. 5. The surest way to judge someone's love for God is by the music they listen to.6. 1 Corinthians 5:12 beats Matthew 7:1. 7. Luke 21:17 is a license to act like a jackass. 8. If all else fails...use guilt, fear, control and manipulation - that'll get 'em. |

| The "Kill them all and let GOD sort them out" is one my favortie quotes. This is the true history of that quote: In 1209, during the "Albigensian Crusade" against the Cathar heresy in Southern France, the forces of Orthodox Catholicism had been besieging the city of Beziers, defended by the Cathar heretics, for some time. Finally they breached the walls of the city and prepared to storm it. The commander of the crusade, Simon de Montfort, Earl of Leicester, pointed out that not everybody in the city was a heretic, some of them were good Catholics, so how should they treat the inhabitants when they captured the city? A monk who was actually present at the siege recorded the answer of the Papal Legate to the Crusaders, Arnaud-Amaury, the Abbot of Citeaux, as "Neca eos omnes. Deus suos agnoscet." ("Kill them all. God will know his own." ) So the Crusaders followed his advice and killed everybody they could find in Beziers. Two points: 1. This is assinine and humanistic reasoning to a *T*. This makes me freaking sick. 2. That said, the Cathars or Albigensians were not Christians in the sense that we use the term. They were quite heretical and Gnostic and I rather doubt that many of them were truly *saved* as we understand the term. _________________ One of the twins: I'm the one who likes it all.....
