Video by Spandau Ballet and we'll back with more Black Sabbath? Laughing The interviewer is just horribly amateurish but a great rare glimpse of a great if underrated line up. None of the band looks especialy pleased to be there haha

That's Mark Goodman. MTV was barely 2 years old at that point and he came from radio...had no idea how to be on TV...

Yeah, Goodman does seem like the geek in the room, but Tony and Geezer (particularly Geezer) seem like they are totally put out just to be there. Ian really took the reins of the interview and came off incredibly professional. But it was a very weird vibe in general, and I think they were playing it up because Goodman seemed so completely uncouth. Cool footage though and it was really neat the way that Ian explained what vocal nodes are.

Yeah its a strange interview to watch but then again it was a bizarre time in Sabbath's history. I saw Sabbath live with this line-up and actually thought they sounded better than the Heaven And Hell tour with Dio a couple of years before. I have almost been crucified many times for saying that but i still think Gillan nailed the Ozzy era songs much better than Dio ever did. The Born Again album though was a disaster especially on Side 2 where the album really falls apart. Songs like Digital Bitch and Hotline are just so generic. Side one was OK though.
