Neko Case

Has anybody listened to Neko Case?

Can I just say, Neko Case has the most sublime voice. It's very
rare these days you come across someone who has such an
enchanting voice. She's like the Siren of the Sea who would
lead men to their death following her beautiful voice. Her beauty
and song could lead you to take part in the forbidden fruit from
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil..

I feel the way you described above about Kate Bush - intoxicating voice and beauty:

In that last photo, she's looking up at the sky, because a big hail storm
is getting ready to break. It does, and THEY STILL PLAY! (well, at least
for 4 more songs). But still, playing in a hail storm without fear of
electrocution!! SUCH HUTZPAH!

album covers for the songs. "Deep Red Bells" is such a killer song!

I need to check out Kate Bush. Always wanted to, but never got around
to it. Maybe I'll try to find her on Seeqpod..

Kate is pretty angelic looking as well..

That's cool. What's the deal with the 4 string SG she's playing? It looks like a bass in the headstock, but she's fretting it like a guitar in the pics.

JUMPIN' JEHOSOPHAT! I never noticed that!
Now I have to find out. Is she just playing a bass with 4 guitar strings?!

It reminds me of Max Cavalera of Sepultura who would only string his
guitar with 4 strings, but he was using a regular guitar, not a bass..

Now she is even more rad..

yeah that looks custom. I have come across Jr and Ladies basses before but that is a guitar neck def. Way short but too thin to be a jr bass. I thought at first maybe it was a baritone guitar and the light hitting the stock just wasn't showing the other tuning pegs but NOPE

Curious if it is standard tuning (EADG)

Interesting. She seems to be fretting regular chords, but lacking the higher end of the chord. Is her sound sort of low end, Jood? Plus, she looks like she has small hands, so perhaps that is part of the need for a smaller neck with less strings? Looks pretty custom to me!

That is way custom and def not a baritone guitar.

Cool. Does she play the bass lines ala The Presidents of the USA or something else?

I notice she has a capo on the neck in that pic too.

Yeah, you should..

Her sound is is kinda tawngy at times, steel pedal is used sometimes, but
she plays with different musicians, so, I'm not really sure what SHE is
actually playing. I'm gonna go see her next month and we're getting
married, so, I'll know the secret then..

Cool, I hope you guys can wait until after the wedding before you copulate like rabid beasts!

Seriously, I'm gonna go see her live, so, then I'll be able to
see what parts she's playing. I guess I could goto youtube and
check, but there is no fun in that. I wanna see it live in person
and the mystery revealed then..
