A hoax had circulated previously saying he was dead when he wasn't, but it's for real this time.

I first heard Dio back in the days of the band Elf and first saw live in
1976 with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. I haven't liked everything he
has done in his career but he was still a major influence in my own
personal heavy metal existence. I have also met and talked him a couple
of times and he was a true gentleman of metal. Heavy Metal will never be
the same and i will miss him deeply, Heaven And Hell can't go on with
Ronnie either, no one can ever take his place. I will miss him and his
voice will always be with me. R.I.P Ronnie --- Ed

A fitting send off. So good to see Ronnie and Ozzy do a song together. My two favorite metal voices!!!

Just listened to the best of RJD throughout the years, sounded so sweet to hear all of this in one sitting!!! It gets better with each song.
