| Up until a couple of years ago when I started having problems with stupid acid reflux, I vocalized for many years and Jim was one of those I had to like ,since that voice is the closest to my natural singing voice. With everyone else I sang along with ,it was mimmicking to a certain extent ,but when I sang The Doors it was like breathing,it just came naturally. Was absolutely into Randy Rose's music as well because of that element and the stripped down Sabbath like feel of the music. Riders On The Storm and Strange Days are some favorites, also like some of the lines from The End,just really don't like the spoken part, seems like "shock value" to me,would like to have a recording without it,if it existed. Before the drugs consumed him ,I think Morrison was completely aware of what he was doing and of the methods used, imho he was a victim of his own self,he wanted to be the psychedelic guide or shaman, but he went too far and in a mental sense couldn't get back. | |

| Don't really know any titles offhand, but there are several out there,I do know that. One of my favorite lines from The End is the one that goes (anyone feel free to correct me if I get it wrong) "Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain, and all the children are insane" that is some interesting insight, the modern world epitomized IMHO,maybe, considering the source, it was an accidentally stumbled upon, yet wise observation ............ | |

| The Doors is a band where I find their debut album and their last album (LA Woman) to be absolutely essential...but find myself only liking various songs from the albums that were recorded in between. LOTS of great songs on those middle albums, but I don't find any of them to be complete classics like those I mentioned above. Morrison Hotel comes pretty close... | |

| I can see your point, some of their weaker material rested inbetween, but come on strange days was one of their best albums | |
