I havent listened to this cd in quite awhile. Maaaaaaaaaaan what a great piece of doomy groovy! I remember hearing "Concrete Cancer" back inna day and not really getting it. I didnt really get into doom/stoner until I heard Pentagram "Day of Reckoning" in the late 80's.

Incarnate, from what I can gather, is a collection of stuff from the Obsessed catalog. I must find me some more of this stuff. Scott Weinrich (sp?) aka Wino was making some great groove stuff with these guys until he went on to St. Vitus.

Bro, if you like Incarnate (which is mainly recordings and singles culled from the early years) then you will LOVE the s/t debut and it's follow up Lunar Womb.

The first one is really hard to find (even the reissue has disappeared), but the recently re-issued Lunar Womb is available from the following:

Southern Lord: http://www.southernlord.com/store.php?dept=DIS
(scroll down almost to the bottom)

Hellride Music: http://www.smartcart.com/hellride/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=HM-3010

StonerRock.com: http://www.stonerrock.com/store/info.asp?item_num=ATH-3453

Take your pick!

I have the first one... Troggish

Yeah.. The S/T is still my favorite of WINO's recordings. I have both that
and Lunar Womb originals on vinyl.

The repress of the S/T on Tolotta records (Joe Lally of Fugazi's record label) has
a bonus live show as well..

I can't believe the s/t is now out of print again..

Going to see The Hidden Hand in about a week.. :bucky:

This is a great album, but I love their self titled album, though I do not have it and haven't heard it in ages. Must get hold of a copy.

Edit...just found a copy on Ebay on vinyl-must get bidding.

Bummer. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I passed those two along to you after I got actual copies.

But nothing says I can't do it again! Doom-Metal

I'd been meaning to check out THE OBSESSED for quite some time; I've been a fan of SPIRIT CARAVAN, ST. VITUS, and THE HIDDEN HAND for a while now. Last weekend I picked up Incarnate and it definitely lived up to my expectations: groove-laden, rockin' doom metal played in true Wino fashion. I can certainly see how this band was the predecessor to Spirit Caravan. I'm looking forward to hunting down their other stuff!

Here are some Ebay links for the still out of print, self-titled debut which is their best, IMO:

I just got this album (from emusic...on a budget, what can I say), anyway I'm really enjoying it! I've been on a MAJOR Wino kick for the past few weeks and this is my first experience with The Obsessed.

The song that's blowing my mind so far is "Inside Looking Out", like a twilight-zone blues song...with Wino spinning a completely convincing tale of life inside a prison cell (whether that's a real or imaginary cell I'm not sure, but does it matter?).

Yeah, great tune ("Inside Looking Out") and great disc! I just ordered the Lunar Womb reissue (2006) from the record store; can't wait for that to come in!
