| I was spinning the first Melissa Etheridge today. I remember when I first heard her on some show right when her first album came out. I totally loved the song which was Bring Me Some Water. I totally got into that album and the second one, Brave and Crazy. I kinda lost interest after the third album. I didnt really like the direction she went but it was good to hear her come back to form on the fourth album. Still nothing grabs me like her first two.
I was in a pretty depressed area in my life at the time so her music kinda coincided with my feelings of loneliness. I was just out of a 2 year relationship with the first girl I had ever fallen in love with so Im sure most can identify. Her music on the first album is so totally heartbreaking and listening to it today made me realize that Im glad Im not that person anymore. Im not really sure I can spin this much anymore and it has been EONS since I had listened to this. I might not identify or agree with her lifestyle BUT her music at this stage of her career was raw and honest. | |

| I remember sorta liking "Bring Me Some Water" when it first came out and "I'm the Only One" was an ok tune also, but that's about as far as I went with her. When she became the poster child for the lesbian movement, I pretty much lost interest. But I hear and understand how her stuff would speak to a certain period in your life. I have tons of music that does that for me.

| I was never really that excited about her. Marginal at best. Too dramatic | |
