I call it atmosphere I am after all a Solitude Aeturnus devotee, and a big fan of former member Lyle's style of lyric writing,it is grandiose,it is dramatic, it is poetic,it IS Doom, and !

Yes, I missed Count Lyle after 'Downfall' too.

Rob Lowe is quite the busy body. (Candlemass, Last Chapter , Concept Of God, The Holy, Graven Image) He has become the sound of trad doom for the 21st century(and the very end of the 20th century).

Keep spreading the "atmosphere" and DOOM on!

Yeah,on the vocal side,I am really happy for him,he deserves it,though it was great seeing him so many years ago,he sometimes played to only a small group of we Solitude faithful, now he is probably performing for some larger crowds in Europe.I have known since the winter of 91' that he is an excellent singer, that he has that unique Dio -like quality of taking a song and making it his.I personally also enjoyed his visual dramatics as well.
I just wish he would lighten up a little bit in the S.A. lyrics, the music is still awesome but the lines are so extremely bleak.Lyle once told me that he wanted it poetic and dark, but wanted to have kind of a "light at the end of the tunnel" element as well.

Check Rob Lowe's project called 'Concept of God' for warmer/religious lyrics. Their only release so far is called 'Visions'. All of the band members are from SA. Perhaps I should say this is a SA project instead???
