Today, "Record Store Day," I obtained this mini-haul (pretty big purchase for a budget-conscious music addict such as myself):

MONSTER MAGNET - Dopes to Infinity (used for $5.97 - one tune skips but I know a place where I can take it to see if they'll resurface it for me... If not, I'll get the $$ back and sink it into another copy...)
SAINT VITUS - Mournful Cries (New for $9.99)
WISHBONE ASH - Argus (New for $9.91)
OGRE - Dawn of the Proto Man (New for $9.97... Check these guys out if you haven't already... I posted a link to their myspace page in the Doom Room forum.)

After making these purchases, I realized that I bought one CD from each of the last 4 decades - Wishbone Ash from the 70's; Saint Vitus from the 80's; Monster Magnet from the 90's; Ogre from the 00's.

Thin Lizzy: some greatest hits thing, as it was looking lonely on the shelf...
Jeff Buckley: So Real - yes, another compilation one... think it's the only way I'll ever get all the stuff he ever recorded. lol
Solace The Day: Solace The E.P.
My Silent Wake: Anatomy of Melancholy
My Silent Wake: Garland of Tears limited edition handpainted red/black vinyl (OK, so I bought it last year, but I've not been here for aeons and just wanted to upset people with this fact Big grin
Becoming The Archetype: Dichotomy
Crimson Moonlight: In Depth and Dreams Unconscious
Dalit: demo ;]
Metallica: Death Magnetic (i bought this a second time for b'day pressie for my nephew...)
Opeth: Watershed

and, er some others, but can't think of them off the top of my head...

Any reason to buy some Lizzy is a good one, but ain't ye sweet for giving a home to lonely orphaned cd's! GIMMEGIMME!
(hopes "orphan" reference in relation to Liz was not lost on ye, Ms. SMART Winky )

I love DALIT! I featured them over at XDA some time ago - good schtuff! WAY UP!

I don't even bother to post my acquisitions anymore...I buy SO MUCH and it's been SO LONG since I kept track. You know it's sad when you find stuff in your collection and have NO memory of buying it. Neutral

I feel the same way...they're even from my home state! The first time I heard them was when I saw them in concert last summer. I went to the show for the opening acts (Graveyard & The Sword). They put on a GREAT performance...their drummer (who plays on the new Wino solo album) is a MONSTER!
