ENGINE

Ray Alder - Vocals (Fates Warning/Redemption)
Joey Vera - Bass (Armored Saint/Fates Warning)
Bernie Versailles - Guitar (Agent Steel/Redemption)
Pete Parada - Drums (Steel Prophet)

The band released 2 albums on Metal Blade:

Engine - 1999
Superholic - 2002

Not qute as Progressive as FATES WARNING, but not straight Heavy Metal either. Their sound was a downtuned, brooding, intense, heavy form of Metal with great melodic delivery and introspective lyrics courtesy of Alder. Some people incorrectly labeled the band "Nu-Metal", but that tag does not fit at all. The music is much too Melodic and intricate for that.

IMO, they were a very underrated and overlooked band who, today, would probably be on a major Hard Music label...

I have Superholic which I listen to from time to time. Never heard the debut.

It's weird, I think about getting rid of the disc, so I give it "just one more spin" to see if anything sticks. After I hear it, I think, "Ok, not bad. I'll hold onto it". Then it gets shelved for months and I forget about it till I start the cycle over again.
