I'm quickly finding my self to be obsessed with this band. I heard them initially back in 2004 when the debut came out, but aside from a song or two they never really clicked (I wasn't in the right frame of mind then). However, with the retro movement now seeming to be in full-swing I've re-visisited them and can't believe how I wasn't blown away before.

Where has this group been? I mean, a band that's seemingly just as inspired by Jethro Tull as Black Sabbath. Great arrangements, they play some "doomy" type riffs but with relatively clean guitar tones (a nice touch). The vocalist seemed a little limited initially but he is consistently getting better with each album. The songwriting also continues to grow by leaps and bounds with each release. The Alchemist has been on constant rotation in player for a couple weeks now. The progressive elements work beautifully (sax, mellotron, organ, etc) and there's not a weak moment on the album.

Can't wait to see what these guys will come up with next.
