They are playing here in Austin Wednesday night with Graveyard as the opening act, I'll be there when the doors open.

It's very seldom (and I mean very seldom) that I get excited about a newer band, but these guys have won me over. I wouldn't classify them as doom or stoner...a very young Jethro Tull crossed with the first Black Sabbath album is about as close to a description as I can get.

Sounds good - I'll try to check 'em out. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Troggish

Seeing a band live is usually the final indicator on how I ultimately judge them, so I was a bit apprehensive at first about my first Witchcraft gig, not being sure if they could capture the vibe of their records.

I was stupid to be apprehensive...

These guys SHOULD be heard live, they are just flat out AMAZING. One of those groups that just casts a spell (no pun intended) the instant they hit the stage, they owned the crowd 30 seconds into their first song. There is an effortless groove at work, Magnus Pelander is great frontman and you can tell these guys are just having a great time playing live. Every song was better in it's live incarnation than on the studio albums, these cats are REAL.

I expect big things from them in the future.

(p.s. - Graveyard was pretty damn good too, but paled in comparison, give them a couple more years though and they'll be impressive).

I just listened to Remembered on youtube. My budget right now isn't allowing me to buy all this great doom, but I have youtube to keep me satisfied until I start getting some cash.

Until you can afford to get something "official", here's an awesome soundboard recording of their performance at the 2006 Roadburn festival.

Thanks for Detuned for turning me onto these guys. Right now, I only own Firewood and a cdr of The Alchemist, but I plan on getting more as soon as finances allow.
