| Ok maybe not so doomy but I have a hard time listening to Nevermore-Dreaming neon black although I love that album but its heartbreaking especially the last track Forever. |

| Nevermore is cool maybe not doomy but still cool. I have no idea what is the single most melancholy album is but I do like darker moments so for me Undercover's Branded has some great moments in the melancholy department as does their Balance of Power album. Many in fact seeing how much of the album is about the death of the guitarist's wife... |

| If we expand outside of the boundaries of doom, one album that is extremely melancholy and very difficult for me to listen to anymore is The Final Cut_ by PINK FLOYD. Such a great album, but SO many painful memories are tied to it for me.

| I love The Final Cut. Its my 2nd favorite Floyd. I think it's much better than the Wall and much darker. Sorry that bad connotations are attached to that masterpiece for ya. |

Oh yeah, it's definitely higher on my list than The Wall - I think it's awesome and definitely one of my favorites. It's got ties to my first heartbreak as a teen...you know the drill. I did pick up the remaster last year though (with bonus track "When the Tigers Broke Free" - score!) and I still give it a spin once in a blue moon. |

| I find Animals to be very melancholy as far as the Floyd go. |

| I can hardly listen to Floyd. Aside from the flashbacks there is some deeply imbedded memories that PF brings out that I don't understand. When he starts singing, Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn, I almost lose it. Why PF and not Iron Maiden, I was listening to them too. |

| And let me say, don't EVER do mescaline and listen to their live stuff. I think something about PF makes me feel my age like the best stuff flew by me and I missed most of it. |

| IMO, Wish You Were Here is a pretty sad album... _________________ "Don't forget to pray for me..."

| A lot of it is based on Syd Barrett and his struggles and how they impacted Roger Waters and the band if I understand it correctly. |

| I think most of PINK FLOYD's post-Syd music is about Syd in some way... _________________ "Don't forget to pray for me..."
