| Myspace blog... Hope Victor is doing better. Sucks... I have been there may times " Victor writes.....> ..> "A man wants to be healed of his melancholy, gloom, and of his sadness. But this healing is not for you. Without your wounds, where would your power be? It is your melancholy that makes your low voice tremble in the hearts of men and women. The very angels themselves cannot persuade the wretched and blundering children of this earth, as can one human being broken on the wheels of living. In love's service only wounded soldiers can serve. All grace, all light, all truth, all power, and inspiration are communicated through the vulnerability, the brokenness, and the utter honesty of men and women who have been shipwrecked and broken on the wheels of living." ~ Thornton Wilder ~ Being broken on the wheels of living has been a common occurrence for me it seems. But nothing compares to the brokenness of late. This will make sense to some and to some it will make no sense at all. We are only men and as we all know, men sometimes fail. But when a Christian believer falls in such a way as I, especially in the presence of other believers, non-believers, or both, there can be devastating effects…eternally. Last year after a show in Germany, I let things get completely out of control for myself. I won't get into details here. That's why I said before that this would make sense to some (who were there) and to others no sense at all. Obviously just being a mere mortal man, I have weaknesses like everyone else, and this night I fell. Unfortunately I languished in this temptation for many months…either not recognizing the signs of falling, or consciously or subconsciously choosing to ignore the signs. Either way is dreadful and dangerous. Hypocrisy is to proclaim one thing and to live another…. and regardless of who may have been watching, there is nothing kept from God's eyes. So now I'm reaping what I've sewn for my actions. It is a brutal and agonizing ordeal. Never in my life…NEVER…have I felt the pain of such conviction. What pains me…and for that matter God…is that I'm supposed to be a soldier of Christ. What I've displayed in this time was anything but what a believer should look and sound like. To this fact I want to apologize and repent not only to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit...but also to those involved and all who may have been affected by seeing me this way. The worst possible scenario is that I could have caused someone that was considering a relationship with Jesus to turn away, or cause a fellow believer to stumble by seeing my sinfulness. This cuts to the core of my being in my relationship with God, and I can only pray that not one person has stumbled because of me. So now I'm on a tough road back. I can only ask God for forgiveness and to look at my heart and begin to dissect the contents therein. To ask God to take my heart and put it back together in a way that's more pleasing to Him. I also ask for your forgiveness for walking outside the lines of my personal proclamation. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9)."

| Wow ... I'm sure it takes a lot of strength for him to publicly say all those things he just said. It seems to me that he is truly repentant and I admire him for that. I have also been at this point too many times (I feel) and (to me) it is far more encouraging to see others go through it and make it out safely than to hear about the "lovely sparkly" nature of God and his forgiveness whenever I am broken down personally. It is as Thornton said in the quote above ^^ Truer words never spoken. I hope he makes it through everything he's dealing with. And while he says in his statement that he hopes no one had to stumble because of him ... I hope that there are those who will be strengthened by the resoluteness of that statement and whatever changes he's planning to make in his life. I personally find that statement encouraging and hopeful. Victor = awesome _________________ ---- Theyyyyy sayyyy myyy songggsss are much too slowww....

| Seems like a lot of this has been going around lately, I'm going through a paradigm shift myself spiritually. What happened to me this past early spring made me question a lot of what I believed, I can no longer tolorate fundemental christianity. |

| I appreciate ghosts of athanasius posting this on the Cave. I still need much prayer. This has been the toughest time of my life. I've been extremely humbled by it and have been reminded so many times from the past where I've been selfish and not acted in a Godly way. May this chastisement turn out to be the blessing of a lifetime. Many thanks for your prayers in this difficult time. God bless you all. Victor |

| Yeah I hope he will,I sent an e-mail last night that hopefully will encourage him, just kind of reminded him just how much he means to all of us, and the spiritual light he has brought to doom and how his witness and his faith was meant to be.A spark of God seems to run through most of the east coast doom bands ,but none have proclaimed it so boldly as Victor. He is a blessing to guys like me who wanted to play music but didn't get to, because it wasn't meant to be, but his musical and lyrical endeavors are. |

Hey man, I thought that might be you when I saw the username.
Welcome to The Cave - glad to "see" you here. I hope this place can help you with your struggles in some small way, or at least help you to not feel so alone in those struggles. There are some good folks here who don't play the "religious card" but are still strong in their faith and will pray for you without sitting in judgment.
Again, welcome brother.
- Randy

| No problem Victor and thanks a million for coming to the Cave. I kind of said my heart on the comment section of the myspace blog but jsut wanted you to know that I empathize entirely. I have been through tough times and falling myself. But I also wanted to say THANK YOU both for your candor now and the tremendous amount of great music that blesses me literally everyday. I appreciate your music because it wails but also I love the lyrics. I can be real picky when it comes to that but you have the gift. Hang in there. Sometimes when we step up we get pushed back but we're never down for the count. By His grace you will overcome it all. Continuing to pray. Grace and Peace Ghosts |
