In my old age I've gotten to the point where I can't handle the growling/cookie monster vocals. I tend to lean towards bands with singers that actually sing (Wino for instance).

In my old age I've gravitated toward growl vocals... Laughing

That could be a sign of "grumpy old man syndrome". SHARON!

detuned, you're a mattafakka now! WOOT! Yay!

And on the actual topic... NOVEMBER'S DOOM is another band on my "to check out" list... More traditional doom (with melodic vocals) tends to be my mainstay, but I really dig death vocals as well.

Vocalist/founder Paul Kuhr is one of the very best at what he does, also a really cool guy,I did a review a while back about his lyric book that he wrote that included some personal reflections among the lines, and he personally thanked me on one of my sites. One of few bands on a short list with growling vocals that I will listen to,just too many heavy bands out there with clear vox that I like now.

LordTsebaoth Oh man,I kind of view them like I do Sabbath, for me,it is not about who is better, like Sab,they were like two different bands,Reagers was like this lost soul/madman vocal combination and he made Vitus an effective "storytelling",supernatural themed band ,whereas ,for the most part,Wino was about the down to earth, tell the unvarnished truth side. Its funny how they seemed to go in the opposite direction of Sab concept wise.
