PostSubject: Nevermore's first album -- DOOM vibe!!   Wed Sep 19, 2007 12:09 am

Hey, guys! I just listened to this album for the first time in FOREVER.
I've had this album kicking around for years. I used to listen to it
all the time in high school, and it's the only Nevermore album I have.
I actually saw the band live once, and I know they sound different now,
but this album is truly HEAVY from start to finish.

Ever notice how putting one album on after another places the
impression of the first album on the next? Well, I was listening to
Leif Eidling's pre-Candlemass band Nemesis earlier and then put
this on ... and I was stuck by the similiarity. Nevermore's first album
is HEAVY, and strung out ... the lyrics are surreal and unique ... it
would not surprise me to find out that whoever writes this band's
lyricist is a big drug-user ... they've definetely got that
metaphysical vibe. The lyrics to this album are taking me to another
place right now, combined with the frigging HEAVINESS of this band. Wow
... I dismissed this band in the past, but now I am viewing them as a
culmination of influences, ala Type O Negative. Truly creative music! I may have to check more into this band!

I am really diggin this album right now...
