Is "Stoner Rock" a derogatory term?

some people wear stoner as a badge of pride others mean it derogatory... it doesn't effect me much because I just dig the sound.

but I have to admit I am glad it isn't called cock-lover rock because that would spur some conflict on my mind

hey cc, and yeah the stoner label never bothered me, from 91 to 05 there wasnt many times i wasnt stoned

The stoner label doesn't bother me. Even though it's been years since I took part in inhaling some sweet leaf, I've certainly thought about it while spinning some Fu Manchu or some old Sabbath. I can see the appeal/connection.
