Educate the NOOB.....

So, being the noob here, I'm in need of some education on this here "doom" thingy....

I already know I'm not going to be big into the "stoner rock" thing. or basically anything that one would apply "rock" to more aptly than "metal"......

I love:

Keen of the Crow (who are sadly already disbanded)

My Dying Bride's Turn Loose the Swans and A Line of Deathless Kings

Morgion's entire catalog

Morphia

And I've
recently been enlightened with Candlemass.

I remeber Cathedral being mentioned years back, when I first heard my
Dying Bride, so I'm already planning on checking them out....

So basically, I know I tend to like some death metal mixed with my doom
....educate me on what's out there, and what I may like that's not as "deathy" as the bands I've listed.

Most of mine are traditional doom with the exception of MSW, which is more of a gothic death doom hybrid.

I've heard Ahab before, and wasn't overly impressed....the older Candlemass stuff I've grabbed....musically, I love it, but the dude has a serious case of "billy goat" vibrato going on that's not my thing......
