I've always heard C.O.C. in passing over the years and liked a lot of it...even got a promo of thiers (America's Volume Dealer, I think) once...but I'm interested in checking them out again...so:

What are C.O.C.'s heaviest albums?

Heaviest? I think Blind is the heaviest. But it lacks the "groove" elements of their later stuff. Wiseblood and Deliverance are pure classics. But they haven't made a bad studio record, IMO.

So, starting with those 3 would be a wise decision?

Yep. Do Deliverance, Wiseblood and when you're feelin' froggy, check out Blind.

Yep, Deliverance and Wiseblood would be my first choices too - unless you're in the mood for their hardcore years that is... Punker Than Thou

In The Arms Of God is by far their best and heaviest record. The addition of jazz/funk drummer Stanton Moore to the recording did wonders for the band, providing a type of propulsion they never had before. It actually takes it closer to the Black Sabbath camp because Bill Ward was more of a jazz drummer than a rock drummer.

After that album I would go with Deliverance, then Blind, then Wiseblood.
