Supernatural Birth Machine? I really like that album even though it is a depart from their doomier stuff. Endtyme is a good album too. I do dig it when Im in the mood for some Cathedral.

Caravan Beyond Redemption! (And the one before FoE; In Memorandum - just for being so eextreeemely chrushingly loooow) You know a band must have done *something* right when every fan has a separate fave release...

I've always had very mixed feelings about Cathedral. I have never been able to make up my mind whether they take themselves seriously...or are just a total joke band...in a "Monty Python humor" kind of way. There seems to be evidence of both scattered throughout their discography. They also are one of the most inconsistent bands on the planet, one of those groups that have a hard time making a solid album all the way through, I always end up making playlists of their stuff so I can cherrypick the good tracks. I picked up the majority of their recordings from emusic. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Caravan Beyond Redemption.

| My faves are: The Forest Of EquilibriumEndtymeThe VIIth Coming Those have thier most bombastic, Doomy-est moments IMO and are lighter on the hippie "Oh YEAH!!!" vibe... Haven't heard enough of Garden Of Unearthly Delights (or not enough times)...I need to break that one out... _________________ "Don't forget to pray for me..."

Imo all their disco' is consistent in their evolution. You can listen Garden... and Forest..., and still you'll recognize it's the same band. Hard for me to pick a fave album, so I'll go for The Carnival Bizarre if for nothing else than Vampire Sun (Tony Iommi solo FFS!!), Hopkins and Night Of The Seagulls (more spanish zombie templar madness, I say!!)

I just picked up The Carnival Bizarre at the record store today... an Earache re-release in a special edition that comes with the Our God Has Landed DVD as a bonus. Very excited to check this out ASAP... but alas, sleep is calling my name at the moment. Oh, and I suppose I'd probably have to pick either Endtyme or VIIth Coming as my favorite. Love the super slow early stuff too... really dig all their stuff, but the two I mentioned tend to top the list. And I agree that The Garden... is very good as well.

I haven't watched the live show yet, but the video clips are all pretty decent quality, and some of them are very interesting visually... quite trippy, as you might expect from Cathedral. Hoping to watch the live part this weekend... will get back to you on that. My local record store had the reissue for $10 - the video clips alone are worth that.
