I think the majority of people here is from US. But I am living in Netherlands now and I cannot complain about doom concerts here. This month was special, Warning, Saturnos/Funeral and a third concert in my small city with Heavy Lord. The future brings Ashes to Ashes.. Doom to Dust festival and Dutch Doom Days VII. Among other they feature: Krux, MDB, Warning, Skepticism and Worship. And the Doom Shall Rise festival is not so far from here too... How is it on the place you live in? I think Finland should be a very doomy country too.

I would say the UK is the best. My Silent Wake, Paradise Lost, The Drowing, Awake By Design, etc. Here in Perth, we don't have any doom bands that I know off... I'm wanting to start one though. Oh wait, we have one band called Sabotage, and they do a lot of Sabbath covers.

And I would agree with that statement and add Sweden to the list. |

For giving us classic and epic doom hail to the U.K. and Sweden but,and yes I am biased because two of the heaviest bands in doom history are from my lil ol hometown of Arlington,Solitude and Last Chapter, but overall it has been America that has kept doom alive IMO,Saint Vitus,Trouble and Pentagram as well as the entire roster of Wino fronted bands and of course the mighty Place Of Skulls and all the other Maryland bands are American Metal......

It used to be one of the coolest places around ,after the Van Halen show you would see half the school wearing concert shirts, hardly anybody ever got shot or stabbed,a good place to grow up in. To this day it still kind of blows my mind that some one I used to go see and talk to sometimes(Robert) is in the opinion of some ,THE greatest singer Candlemass has ever had.I have to invoke the Sabbath rule on that one,I liked both Ozzy and Dio,and IMO they were like two different bands, musically and lyrically.Of course the one big difference with Robert(The Voice Of Doom,I have called him that for years in my writing) Lowe is that he can sing ANYTHING in Candlemass catalog and make it sound good IMO......

No France, that's for sure. The only gigs are in the North, near Paris. Elsewhere, it's Doom mostly because there's nothing, and thus it's bleak, and therefore Doom. I tell you : being deprived of everything Doom Metal gigs related is the Doomiest thing EVER. That, and being one of the only Doom fans in a 950 000 inhabitants city (we're 10 or so). And also running ourt of cookies. Chocolate and nuts is Doom, especially when you have finished the pack.
