Im spinning Chinatown at the moment and had forgotten how good this album is. Classic in every sense. I have all the TL albums in mp3 form and I seem to prefer the later years. Chinatown, Thunder and Lightning and Renegade seem to be my favs.

I love ALL eras of Thin Lizzy. They rank as one of my all time favorite bands. If I had to pick three favorites, I'd go with
1. Johnny the Fox
2. Bad Reputation
3. Fighting

Of course the greatest of all would be "Live and Dangerous."

Meeting Scott Gorham, Gary Moore or Brian Downey has been of my life long desires.

Moved this to the Classic Hard room. Winky

Oh, and I *LOVE* LIZZY - all eras - but I'm particularly fond of the Eric Bell years! WAY UP!

Vagabonds of the Western World is indeed one of their best!

I'm glad to see this thread started with China town! I think that is a criminally over-looked album!

Night Life, Jailbreak, Johnny the Fox & Bad Reputation are all up there too! In fact, Lizzy never released a bad album, but some rank higher than others!

Live & Dangerous is in my Top 3 Live albums ever!!!

If you're a Lizzy fan then you owe it to yourself to pick up the new Live And Dangerous DVD.

It contains a full concert from 1977, another from 1983 with John Sykes, all of their Top Of The Pops appearances, recent interviews with the surviving members of the original lineup and a bonus CD from 1975.

Good stuff!

I actually like the Eric Bell era the most out of all the line-ups but Johnny The Fox still remains my favorite album from them. Saw them live in 77 and i still think it one of the best concerts i have ever been to.
