Hmmm.... picture the crunchy guitars from Angry Little Freak, but songs written like the heavier Troglodyte Dawn stuff...
Or, picture songs written in the vein of early Black Sabbath, but with modern guitar sounds, like Metallica...
Very, very doomy, downtuned stuff. Some songs downtuned to C, one even downtuned to A.
From my end, everything is done -- except the solo in the Saint tune. I'm pretty sure what I want to do with it, but being that it's a cover, I'm spending a little more time thinking it through than I do with my own solo's, which are much more spontaneous.
We're not rushing this album. As Shawn said, God bless home recording! Randy and I have been blessed to have pretty decent gear and are able to make a good sounding recording with our own stuff -- so we can afford to go at our own pace. I'm thrilled to be working with a singer who spends as much time as Randy does working on melodies, vibe, and delivery, to make the songs perfect.
Anyway, the release date is still a bit uncertain, but we're really not that far off. Just one solo, and the vocals, and it's done. Thanks for your patience, everyone... and if you get a chance, tell some friends about us!
